Reminds me of in GT4, the one special event where you had to go from last to 1st in one lap, driving a Toyota 2000GT, where your opponents were driving much faster cars. Frustrating.

Some muppet causes a huge pile-up at the first bend and then scampers off into the distance. That's why one-lappers are so pointless.

To unlock the TG track to play on at will, you need to win (gold) the VW camper challenge. This seems really difficult at first but it soon becomes apparent that there are many easy overtake opportunities.
I found the (unlocked) TG track a bit disapointing to be honest, the run off is so limited that any more than the slightest of corner cutting see's you hitting the dreaded 'invisible wall' which totally ruins the experience doesnt stop me trying to beat the Stig's times in exotica though, usually really easy once I cheat & spec it up a little

A quick google suggests its only available in arcade after beating the top gear challenges. Its also available online.

Once you get Gold on the camper van challenge it is available to practice on in GT mode, not just arcade. 100% sure, I have done it on my PS3 not just read it somewhere

Is it? I haven't got it in gt mode and i completed the top gear challenges on gold... Or at least i thought i had just double checked and i got silver on the first one oops!

I have only done the Camper challenge, haven't bothered even completing the Lotus one.... I started it- but the extra speed made my head spin after hours pootling around in a 40bhp? V.W. bus
