I went the supercharged route, and I'm not sure I'd bother again. It gave the car the ability to overtake, but really not much else and not really any more fun, imo.
Not better having that grunt on track and handy for runs with steep hills...Overtaking is a big plus. Currently have an NA but think FI would be good for sideways too on track...

Believe it or not I actually found my car harder to get sideways with FI because the inner wheel just spun the power away .Overtaking is a big plus. Currently have an NA but think FI would be good for sideways too on track...
Never tried it with an LSD though.
Yes, it was faster on track. Knocked some 30 secs off my 'Ring time, which equated to a £100 per second.
I did a weeks driving on my own in the French Alps twice with my MX5, once N/A and once with FI. Was the FI better for being quicker up hill? Errr......, not really too sure. Not much in it. The fun is in the corners, I'd say. FI might reduce journey times but I enjoyed driving the Mazda so didn't really want the journey to end any sooner, if I'm honest.
If you've got the itch then you've got to scratch it, but if/when I have another one I think I'd sooner spend the £3k on fuel, hotels and ferries etc and go and drive the bloody thing.

I have just been for a drive and it was VERY fun but a little frustrating on overtakes and on very steep hills (ski areas), apart from that it is wonderful. I will scratch it or go back to an elise...Never tried it with an LSD though.
