'Triggers Brush'
It's the same brush...all original
Trigger: "And that's what I've done. Maintained it for 20 years. This old brooms had 17 new heads and 14 new handles in its time."
Sid: "How the hell can it be the same bloody broom then?"
Trigger: " Theres the picture. What more proof do you need?"

Now that has charisma! It also has provinance and pedigree. It must have been amazing to watch on the track. Thanks for posting it on here.
Can remember watching that race 'in period' along with many other fantastic and often outrageous Super Saloons. A great era of British National circuit racing.Back in the day, I helped the RS Owner's Club at their classic car show stands. In 1988 we managed to win 'stand of the show' at the NEC. We had a certain old Escort on that stand that was lent to us by Beaulieu Motor Museum.
Back in '88 they asked us to insure VLE 756X for ......
£20,000.
"What a lot of money", we retorted, before paying the premium.
A one event Sutton works car, built for Ari Vatanen to win the 1981 World Rally Championship (which he did). Second overall on the RAC behind a certain four wheel drive Audi...
I think it's probably the most original and maybe most valuable works Escort RS. Any stabs at value? £250,000?

That was the same year we (AVO OC) celebrated 20 years of the Escort Twin Cam and we displayed the then, just restored ex-Alan Mann XOO 349F as well as a restored standard white road car (SOB ???H) and the unique factory painted red, Twin Cam (KAN 422K).
I was part of the team manning the AVO OC stand at the show that weekend, so we must have met at some point
