Any harm in overfilling petrol tank?
Discussion
My car will happily take another gallon after the things started clicking; for those who say its pointless; an extra 50 miles without stopping is a big plus. Do not do it on extremely hot days however, as the fuel will expand out the top (creating a big, extremely flammable mess).
I also don't do it if I'm doing short journeys (rather than burning a gallon or so off straight away) - for that same reason. What's the point in having a 60L fuel tank if you can only put 55L in it?

If you drive a diesel, over-filling is mandatory: without diesel spills we'd be deprived of one of the few remaining effects of Darwinism left open to further enhance the human gene pool.
Eh? Do I need a woosh parrot?Matthen said:
