Why buy this when you can buy a F3000 car for 10K, put some cycle wings on it, lights etc and register it. I've often thought about offering such a service. Is there a demand for such a service? Bottom end would be formula Ford right up to F1 cars.

Errr, yes! How much do you reckon they'd cost to convert? I've been thinking about exactly that. I don't have the SVA manual, so I don't know how much work is involved. Of course, a road-legal F1 car may be a little extravagant!

I suspect it would involve much more work than you think to make any single seater SVA comlpient. Even making a racing caterham roadworthy isn't the work of a moment.

Ahah! Sorry but talking of power/weight/cost ratios and road legalities on this thread got my juices flowing so I went trawling the worldwideinterweb and have just BOUGHT meself a F27 'locoblade'. Fireblade power, carbon fibre trim, ultralight wheels with no spare and no reverse box or unnecessary weighty gubbins like a windscreen or heater or anything works out somewhere around 430kg on the road. Of course I have still to fit a fairly substantial rollcage before I go hillblatting but this still equates to around 300bhp/tonne (not counting my lardy 17 stone arse though...).
Can't wait for the new years track-day calender to materialise now, find me at Castle Coombe sometime soon!
