RE: Mountuning a Fiesta ST

As a slight aside I see the US ST is also a 5-door which adds a dash of extra practicality.
If the UK one was 5 door it would be a no brainer choice of new hot-hatch for me having 2 kids. The 2 things I want from an affordable hot-hatch are manual and 5 doors. Ok at the moment I drive a Mk1 Audi TT, but already it's been a pain when my wife's FRV had to go into the garage.
I've had a 3dr and 5dr Mk5 Golf Gti previously, and the slight improved looks was hugely outweighed by the extra practicality of the extra door
So the Renault Clio is 5 door but a no-no due to the auto box, the 207 Gti is only 3 door, the VW Polo/Skoda Fabia vRS/Seat Ibiza Cupra/FR are auto only and the Fiesta ST is only 3dr.
I really do not understand the logic of not offering a 5 dr ST in the UK!
I could go up a group to a Golf Gti/ Focus ST, but they are quite a bit more expensive - of go secondhand obviously, but I'd like the option of a new car.
gimmick gimmick gimmick... Overboost this, overboost that, electric this and electric this... Blah, nonsense. It is still ugly and boring car to drive. Give me a good n/a engine, good manual box and great steering feel. I highly prefer Suzuki Swift Sports over this thing.
I generally hate new cars..!

It would be good to see what the dyno printouts would look like just for the filter box without the re-map, as I suspect it would be better than you would think, modern car inlets are often strangled for noise reasons.
And you mention better pick up at low rpm in higher gears and better higher up the rev range, they describe perfectly resolved breathing issues.

New Focus ST is £16.5k on Drivethedeal...Still that seems very cheap - I will have a nosey.
The overboost is available all the time at full throttle until the engine management detects the intake temperatures are too high for full boost pressure of 21psi and drop it back to 14.5psi. It isn't permenant so can't be quoted as such.
The Mountune upgrade isn't just on overboost either although they only seem to quote the peak overboost figures.
