I think the whole TT RS looks over done, particularly the boot spoiler - do you think it be possible to have the understated looks of the standard TT with the RS engine, all wheel drive & a manual gearbox?
Fashionable years ago & seen planted on every bog-standard Eurobox saloon. Of unpainted fibreglass & available from every car accessory shop, a quick blow-over with a rattle can of paint & voila the spoiler told the world that150mph+ was now possible without the back-end taking off. Audi a bit desperate or what? Enjoying driving a base model 2.0 with the DSG and FWD at the minute, it's just a lovely place to be and spend time in. It's almost definitely not the last word in fun but it has decent turn in and is nice to drive albeit the controls do feel remote (first car where I've ever bought into the whole review spiel about weight in controls and feedback).
Can only imagine the RS would just feel like a much faster version of the one I've been driving, with less torque steer when you boot it and an amazing soundtrack and honestly I could definitely live with that.
Echo other people's thoughts about the styling add-ons though. The normal car is a very smart looking thing, this is a bit gaudy.

I don't think it's getting the pasting it usually does... it's all the things you sat it is and isn't right there in your post.
The interior is stunning, the seats the tech... all wonderful. I can see why people would want one... If my neighbour was after one, I'd say go for it without hesitation. For what I look for in a car, it doesn't deliver. I'd say most buying a Cayman wouldn't consider a TT either.
Worth noting that to whom it matters Porsche has a greater brand cachet than Audi, which has a value (again to those who acknowledge that)The interior is stunning, the seats the tech... all wonderful. The RS is faster in the real world but outright speed isn’t the what it’s about for me.
Those who are equally enthusiastic about the RS, any car for that matter... It’s all good, common interests etc.

That blue looks a bit like the Miami blue you get on Porsches.....are VW sharing paint colours now?!
It probably does look a bit like Miami blue in photos but it's not the same colour. It's more blue and less green than Miami. Somewhere between Riviera and Voodoo blues.Quite a few Audis in the last few years (especially RS models) ordered in Riviera so looks like they decided to come up with their own light blue solid.

Yep they're not bad at all. I've currently got the standard 2.0 TFSI in FWD with a Manual 'box. I really wasn't sure about it at first but it's turned out to be a great buy. Feels genuinely sporty to drive the 6s 0-60 is respectable given it's 230PS power output. I've tried the Quattro S-Tronic which is better still so would imagine the TT RS to be a serious machine! I think the S-Line or TTS without the fixed rear spoiler are probably the best looking in the range, the RS is trying a little too hard...
