RE: Bugatti Chiron Sport | Driven

I had the opportunity back in the day to drive a Veyron and I was mega impressed with its capability and I had driven a few supercars of that era. The Veyron moved the game on massively and the Chiron no doubt does more of the same. The levels of grip are quite incredible and for anyone who reckons a 261mph car would not handle is talking utter rubbish. There are very few cars out there that you can drive at 200mph plus that would not be at best a buttock clenching experience. The Bugs are one hand on the wheel stuff. That all said if I had the money to own one I probably would not unless I lived in Germany. They are built to drive at incredibly high speeds and you just can't do that anywhere in the UK except at a circuit and they are not built for that purpose. A fantastic feat of engineering.
I had a brief drive in one a few years ago and was similarly impressed, I've never felt anything so powerful yet composed, 150mph really didn't feel intimidating at all. They look a lot smaller in person that they look on photos imo
they veyron is one of the all time greats I think
quite curious about what the Divo will be like and the supersport too

The follow up is also great. I loved the Le Mans story, especially the Japanese mechanic and the battery. I was nearly crying with laughter.
Absolutely -- hilarious and also very sincere, e.g. the bit on Senna checking out the 82 Formula Ford. Only problem is that I tried to listen to this (as you do) to doze off / catch some sleep on a boring flight. Well that didn't work out, gave up and listened to the follow up . Thanks again for dropping that link here!Schermerhorn said:
PS: What is it is about cars like these that tend to drive Brits crazy with envy and jealousy to the point where they make asinine statements?
Why do you think that anyone who opines that they don't like a particular hyper car is jealous?I like many cars that are ridiculously expensive and/or fast that, a lottery win not withstanding, I will never drive let alone own. This isn't one of them. Nothing to do with the price tag. It's fugly.
