Surely this Karif is much better value. I can't believe it's so cheap for the mileage or why I haven't bought it. Manual 'box too.

That Karif has been up for a while and is almost suspiciously cheap. The Ghibli looks far more purposeful as for the the rear of Karif...

looks great in the pictures, if its good it surely is worth the money, not so many of those made I guess.

btw, my younger sisters (twins) also have a Maserati as their 'hobby' car, although its not much used so cost a lot to refresh parts without driving it much, they are to busy.

Its a very nice aluminium body'd 1967 Maserati Mistral 4000 with beautiful all leather interior.
so I guess they got that Maserati itching a bit from my Dad :-)

Dear Restomod World, please spare us yet another reimagined 911 or E-Type and do a modernised-Maser - this or a Shamal would do fine thanks. Can I afford it if you did? No. But you'll make the world a better place.

I wasn't brave enough when I was last seriously looking at these 20+ years ago when I was single with no kids. Now married with kids I'm even less brave, but that hasn't diminished my thoughts for a car I suspect will always look absolutely bloomin' fabulous. cloud9
Interesting history re Evo, too.

I see there's a RHD Ghibli coming up for auction in May.

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11567461

It's neither a GT nor a manual but it does sound well-sorted and it is a handsome car.

The body color looks black but the ad says it's green, so presumably it's Verde Tundra.

I forget if 1994 models already have ABS. I don't think they do?

Ghiblis typically perform badly at auctions, so this could be YOUR chance. readit

If contemplating possible financial ruin for a Maserati at this price point, I would choose a Granturismo, which looks better and sounds amazing, before buying this Ghibli.

No, they did not bought it from Stolze :-)
they have that car for many years now, sadly I did not made pictures from under the hood at that time, seen it under the hood later, but forgot to make a picture of that and forgot by what way the fuel was fed tot that engine.

lol, thanks, I will tell them when I see them again, sadly they live on the other side of this country, so not seeing them so often and when they visit this side, they always come with a workhorse car.

Diluting the thread somewhat, but I've just spotted this RHD manual Biturbo on ebay....

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265133190296?hash=item3...

Question for Dicky - any idea how many of these were RHD...?

Hear hear.

One of these with a Ferrari/Maser V8 would be pretty special. Or even a 2.9 V6 from the current Giulia QV.

Anything fruity and Italian really!

A blank canvas for rich people everywhere. The bds.

I own a 96 Ghibli GT - 10 years now - love it. Lovely that Pill has drawn attention to these cars. Comfortable, the kids can sit comfortably in the back )or adults for that matter), really quick and entertaining when the turbos come in - t has a real sense of occasion......

I love its looks, mine is dark green with black interior - that red is a bit much for me - angular, odd and understated - it doesn't shout what it is - tho people often stop and ask.

Reliability has been fine during that time - i do pay for it to be maintained properly - but not significantly different to my old TVR or M5 really (well, that's once the chains had been done - after that not been too bad). The costs come from odd little bits that are tricky to find. I wish Maserati hadn't called their latest blandmobile a Ghibli as that ruins my searches for spares.....

And 2Smoke......I used to have an Alfa 155 - i think i just like the boxy design era too!

Lovely cars these, they've been creeping up in price in the past few years, the only thing keeping prices from surging is maintenance costs I assume. I've actually been searching for one for quite a while, drove a well sorted 2.8 auto, and while both the engine and the 'box suit the car very well, I really want the 2.0 V6. Found a one that I liked in Italy but given the current situation it's hard to travel, and I'm not buying one sight unseen.

I actually had a look at this car a couple of weeks ago when the Dealer came to view my own Maser. It's a lovely car in beautiful condition.

I'd love to own one myself, for the 4 exhausts coming out of the bumper if not it's size (it's tiny by modern standards).

Lovely but I'd avoid pre 2.8 models. We had one of these from new. We've had 25 year old classic cars far more reliable than a 2.5 bi turbo. If you can work on them yourself I'd say go for it. She will keep you very busy smile
