Nope this car is BRG, this is Polynesian Turquoise, very different colour:

Yes! You are quite correct, for some reason i thought it was the lighter shade. There were a few different shades of BRG also IIRC.

We had a Rover dealership for over 50 years up until the demise, hence me having every iteration of 'sporty' Rover, Metro GTI 9MPI), 216 GTI Twin Cam, the 216 Coupe plus many more.

I did 20k per year using K series lumps without any HG issue at all. We found a car couple do 3000mls and blow or 100k still on the same gasket.

Once the tired tie rod bushes were replaced or poly bushed it transforms the torque steer. Front end is simple McPherson but the layout and geometry of the rear suspension was the same as the Honda Civics and Integra of the era.

I had a '94 214SEi and a '94 220GSi, but always wished I'd been able to get a turbo coupe. The GSi handled well and went well, so I can only imagine the coupe would have been an awful lot of fun. I think all iterations of the R8 still look fantastic today and they promise to be modern classics very soon...

Mr Howell. I think an eye test maybe on the cards and when your sight is corrected head directly for the automotive car shrink if such a person exists. Everyone to their own but this is a turd on wheels.

And I think you need an eye test.

Next.

Don't get me wrong, I love the styling of these but that's strong money for a 216, no matter how clean. Hopefully these less powerful 220s can handle anything that remotely resenbles a bend, unlike the turbo I used to own. I'd have a turbo back in a heartbeat due to the classic lines, but I wouldn't try and drive it like a Golf Gti on b-roads... you'll bin it very quickly.

There was a race series for these (well 220 Turbo), covered by some late night motorsport program - usually carnage.

I quite like them and have been looking around for an early one (don't like the later front grille). Overall I think it is a nicely proportioned car. I have a Corrado VR6 and whilst I do like the look of the car, from some angles it can look a bit BMW Compact (long bonnet, stumpy rear) which i don't really like.

Loved my 1.8 vvc k series. Was a 1998 with the bubble dash. Later I got a 96 spec JDM dc2 which was awesome but something about the rover has stuck with me over the dc2. The styling was so cool inside and out in my opinion. Seats were great front and back aswell as the body kit.

The Coupe never got the twin cam from the GTI.

Only the SOHC d16a6 went into those from the factory. I stuck a d16a9 (130bhp) into mine then later a b16a1 DOHC VTEC from a CRX SiR.
Awesome. I went to a JDM dc2 after mine and would've loved the b18c in it
