I would be more interested in a V8 F Type at £35k if I could afford it, a 20-25k XKR is a nice car but a bit more old man and much more common on the roads.

The XKR I'm not sure could match the sense of occasion that the Gransport has; an early V8S F Type probably could in a more brutish way.

Thanks Sounds lovely, but just put a deposit on one yesterday smile

Looked at six, three of which I drove. Bought one that really stood out with great history and condition.
I am considering buying a GS too, and I went to see one last weekend - nice enough but has a few niggling things (engine plastic covers missing, no parking sensors/cruise control, VERY sticky buttons) that need sorting. Also a fairly "bold" colour, so I'm still thinking. Trying to find one that's no older than 23 March 2006 to avoid the higher tax band, which is no easy feat.

I am interested to know what decided you against the other ones you test drove. Outside of great history and condition, were you looking for something specific? If you don't mind sharing the ones you rejected and why (maybe by PM), then I would be most grateful. We all have different criteria but I'm sure some of your feedback will resonate with my research.

Also, I can't wait to see pictures of yours when you collect it!

Mission Accomplished! Will probably turn the wheels back to Grey, but delighted that I found this lovely example.

I managed to do 1000 miles or so in my first week with the car, took it to the SPA classic and even did a few laps of the circuit whilst there!

It feels really special and I’m impressed with the handling balance too - I’ve had quite a number of cars now, and this feels like a complete bargain, like buying a car half price.
