Why is the Capri being compared to the 240z? List prices...
240Z £2389
Jaguar E-Type 4.2 £2882
Capri 3000GT £1484
Alfa GTV £2439
Austin Maxi £1083
Cortina 1600 £1013

The 240z is closer to an E Type in price. The Capri was a cheap coupe. I dislike the PH suggestion that Ford was caught unprepared with the low tech Capri. Poor journalism.

The 240z was a victim of tax. The capri was a victim of the British car industry's narrow mind and cost saving.

This is now my car and her name is Candy. I bought her from Parkway Motors and had to spend a bit of money sorting a few bits out. The lights were stuck on high beam, none of the locks worked and the heater switch was stuck. Other than that she is in pretty good shape and very original inside. I got a 240z model in yellow from cars.minimodelshop.co.uk but if anybody sees a road spec model car in red please let me know. I can only find them in race colours.

I'm a very happy man!
