Gearbox is sublime, really mechanical in feel with a lovely knobbly tactile gearstick. boxedin

Standard Bridgestones were (for me) widow makers. I could make the back come around with negligible effort on mini roundabouts, which was fun to see peoples jaws drop and eminently controllable, but would have confidence issues if it happened whilst pressing on.

Suffers from a similar problem to the Civic Type-R in that in standard guise it didn't really feel as fast as you actually were travelling, I guess because of the oft lamented lack of relative torque.

Sold mine when I PX'd it in for a R34 GTR, would've probably kept it for some time otherwise as it was a great all round car, relatively cheap to run and completely reliable.

In perhaps a PH first on this type of thread, just thought I'd come back and give an update.

So a few weeks back now I bought a 55 S2000 in moonrock grey. It's quite a low miler (47k), ended up getting it for just under £8.5k private sale. Really enjoying it so far and no logbook loan companies or finance companies have been in touch yet which is good party

Mine is a november 2005 on a 55 so it sneaks quite close! I don't think it's strong money really for the condition it was in, the only other one I could find that was a GT with a hardtop in the same colour, same age and mileage was up for £8.5k and was CAT D! A small part of me with my car value crystal ball predicts/hopes that the value of these isn't going to go much lower and may even rise if honda don't bring out a replacement. You see some early models with low mileage up for £6-7k still.

Good work on the VED
If you are happy that's the important thing

I did six months ago and I've not stopped grinning since. Mines a 2008 and only had 17K on the clock when I got it and its my daily drive. Probably paid over the odds from a main dealer but the whole package made me feel less ripped off, part-ex deal, cover etc.. I was looking for an open top roadster with a bit more umph and a less leaky roof than my Z3 1.9 and couldn't find a decent Z3M. Sampled Z4, MX5, RX8, and a load of others and none really rocked my boat. I'd not experienced Vtec before and when the dealer said you need to 'rev the nuts off it' on the first test drive I was sold from the first 6K+ burst!

The list of stuff I can't get in it is growing such as a guitar in a hard case, or a medium suitcase and trips to IKEA are definitely out, but for me that's fine, my son has a corsa for all that :-)
