When dreams don't come true - Miura
Discussion
I've had many people lust after a Dodge Viper GTS, but when they actually sit inside it they find it quite tight for them. the pedal rack moves backward and forward to attempt to cater for those with longer legs but for some there knees are jammed up either side of the steering wheel making it impossible for them to use the car! On the RT/10s the window top frame can also be a pain as its quite thick and this can also impede vision for taller bodied drivers. I have fitted a 1" seat lowering kit in my car which helps when using a helmet at track days. But I have had many people leave the car dissapointed that could not fit

I have to drive shoeless, I've never been able to find shoes which don't ruin my heel/toe
Have you tried racing boots? As the unfortunate owner of comedy sized clown feet I find that either racing boots (in my case, Adidas Ferozas) or barefoot style shoes (I have some barefoot Merrells that they seem to have since stopped making which are great) are the thing to drive in. fatboy18 said:

That and those pedals being very close together.... fatboy18 said:
I sat in the drivers seat of a GT40, and hated it, I felt like I was lying on my back and it was very tight,
Its a stunning iconic car but i would not like to drive one, but being over 6ft 2" it was not designed for someone like me!
Dan Gurney was 6' 4" when he won Le Mans in one ...It did have a bulge in the roof for his head . Its a stunning iconic car but i would not like to drive one, but being over 6ft 2" it was not designed for someone like me!

Ach. I had the same problem with a Suzuki Cappuccino I went to see in Slough (I travelled from Maidenhead, too). Still hurts me now, so I can empathise.
THIS, gentlemen, is why I will always love Pistonheads.coppice said:

I've wanted a Porsche 911 since I was 5. The 930, then later the 964 were exactly what I was after.
So after around 25 years I have the cash to buy and run one as a second car.
Of course I don't fit, head against roof, knees against the dash and my back is too wide for the seat. I took it out anyway to confirm that 8 minutes was long enough for things to start to cramp and there was no point in continuing.
It may be possible to make me fit by changing the drivers seat for something much lower and further back but that's a bit of a gamble and I don't want to ruin the car.
Arse.
Christ, how tall are you.So after around 25 years I have the cash to buy and run one as a second car.

I'm 6"3' and fit fine in my 3.2 carrera, and that has the more bulky electric seats. Try some RS style seats ?
I can certainly get into the 996 but it was never the dream car, the potential fragility also puts me off. I'd also have to sell my BMW 645 and I'm still too fond of it.
PH towers, you should have used the photo of the actual car I posted in the thread. Sure, a Miura looks great on a sculpted lawn, but the car I viewed had a much more exotic stance and was in the middle of the most humdrum industrial estate which made the sheer sculpture of the shape all the more other worldly.
Sorry, I'll shut up now...
