Lovely cars, especially the estate. I remember the advert when it came out, I even ordered the DVD of it!

Just having a quick wander through the net looking at used Accords I came across an 'interesting' one on Autotrader.
A 1987 manual in silver, silver grey velour interior, 37600 miles...... £3000.
Just because something is rare doesn't mean to say its a classic.
Not sure how to reply to this, other than to say thanks for clarifying your stance on the matter. It's not a classic V12-engined Italian thoroughbred, granted, but it is 34 years old, definitely rare, low mileage, looks in ok condition, and will be desirable to anyone into this sort of thing. I'd suggest you avoid the Retrorides forum; they consider anything pre-2001 as qualified, and you would wear out the Yikes emoji almost instantly.
If it was a 1987 Ford Sierra with that mileage it would probably be closer to £5000.
I was sceptical on the way to view, but it really exceeded expectations. It really is extremely clean and drives like a new car.
3 Month Warranty. I have had various quick stuff, couple V8s etc. Just wanted something simpler but still with some character. The market opens up now I am no longer really concerned with RWD and BHP. The local Honda Dealers have been extremely helpful, I'll do all I can do keep her running right.
It was that or a boring econobox, and having a car the same age as me was on my bucket list, and its the silly reasons, The reg plate has the exact postcode of where I grew up, so took that as a bit of a sign and as I said so far its absolutely fantastic.

I've had a 2.2 CDTi Tourer for donkey's years and just cannot justify changing it. As many have commented on here, it still looks fairly modern, has a massive boot for dump runs, strong, smooth engine and is very well screwed together. I've just breached 230k miles and other than routine maintenance, it hasn't put a foot wrong. Handles pretty well too for an estate. One day I know i'll have to change it but seems little point atm.
I'm the same.. On my second 2.2CDTI Tourer ( wrote off the first one). It on 153k miles and i see no valid reason to change it..I've heated leather electric seats, heated mirrors, built in Nav, climate control, electric tailgate, auto lights and wipers - a more modern car doesn't have much more... only thing i wish it had was an auxillary input for the radio!
Currently needs the rear brakes looked at, backing plates are shockingly expensive for what they are but as i intend to keep the car i think they'd be best on her. Donnelly Honda Dunagannon quoted me £185 for a pair this morning.
Can easily see this car doing 200k no problem..

I've got the 2.4 petrol tourer in exec spec that I've had for just over 5 years now, just about to hit 160k miles so pretty similar age. Had it's MOT and annual service at the weekend and after a few years of minimal spend it now needs new brake discs & pads, two new tyres, a new starter motor, aux belt, and couple of other bits.I've heated leather electric seats, heated mirrors, built in Nav, climate control, electric tailgate, auto lights and wipers - a more modern car doesn't have much more... only thing i wish it had was an auxillary input for the radio!

Seems a pain to be spending that kind of money on a 17yr old car that isn't worth much, but it's such a good car I fully intend to keep it for a long time yet! Hopefully this little refresh will get me another 5 years
Re: the aux input- I purchased one of the £12 Bluetooth adapters off Amazon that plugs into the cigarette lighter- tune it to a blank radio frequency (I use 105fm) and job done. Amazon music etc from your phone direct through the car. I've also got a tablet holder for the dash so that I can use Waze on a big screen for our long Cornwall trips, with everything being played via Bluetooth through the car sound system. Works a treat. The adapter also has 2 x usb ports on it for charging or direct music input.

Same. I got one for xmas and must say I am impressed with it too. https://www.amazon.co.uk/FirstE-Transmitter-Blueto...
I tune to 87.5 and don't have any interference. I keep it in the charge port inside the armrest cubby hole so it doesn't get in the way. Another reason not to bother 'upgrading' the old girl.

There's a charge port in the armrest?! Have I just not spotted this in the nearly 6 years I've had mine or was this a later addition?? Mine is a 2004 Exec.Squirrelofwoe said:
