Wouldn't but anything connected with the red scum.
Do you not think you are perhaps taking football a little too seriously if you think like that ?You can see how people end up as radicalised, fundamentalists or whatever if you can get so bothered about a game, that you wouldn't buy a car because the chap who owns the company part owns a football team.
Plenty of reasons not to buy a car that make sense, but not this one. Do you fight in the streets with other football supporters ?
"Red Scum", go and have a word with yourself.

It's not one-time event to move on from, it's an ongoing self-inflicted clusterfk that has real, negative impacts on UK business. Headlines this week - the national farmers' union saying UK fruit and flower farmers facing 'an existential threat' with new border checks due to start (having been delayed 5 times).

The UK farming sector was largely pro-Brexit I think, and now they're finding out that it actually has made things worse for them. That will cost INEOS some sales in the UK non-urban market. Although the inability to recover VAT will be the biggest turn-off!
Yeah but moaning about it on a car forum won't change anything. Neither of the two major political parties are going to offer another vote either, so you're basically shouting at the clouds at this point.https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/jan/22/b...

But it puts into context why Brexit will continue to be a factor for some people who might otherwise have purchased a Grenadier, farmers included. There won't be a referendum for many years, if ever, but there will be a very gradual, quiet closening of UK/EU links to reduce trade restrictions and other Brexit barriers over time. Like the NFU's horticultural lobbying right now, it's not shouting at the clouds.
My Grenadier was delivered at the end of April and I have done just over 15,000 miles so far. As an early build vehicle it has had its share of issues, all of which have been sorted by the dealer, but it has never failed to start or take me where I wanted to go. The first service was under £400, was completed in a day and I was loaned a courtesy car, (Sangyong Musso, I don't want one).
Mine is a diesel and average mpg is about 24, with a low of 20 and a high of 28. Sticking a trailer on the back brings it down to 20mpg, but performance is not hugely affected, (remember I previously drove a LR110 CSW 200Tdi, so 111bhp to 245bhp).
I'd suggest it drives and handles better than a P38, but it would be foolish to suggest it was as good on or off road as a New Defender. Having said that, I much prefer my Grenadier off-road to a new Defender; it feels like it will last, will not look quite so broken as a scratched/dented Defender, (character rather than damage), and promises to be easier to fix/modify.
So far, Ineos Automotive have not delivered the promised workshop manual and parts book, but I'm assured that it is on the way. As the Grenadier has a 5 year warranty, the need is not urgent, but I'd rather do some jobs myself, slowly, than have them done at full speed, by a technician who wants to earn his bonus.

If you saw Harry Metcalfes video on taking a defender d300 to the alps he complained it was only doing mid-high 20's so roughly comparable
Diesel Grenadier and D300 CO2 figures are miles apart. Giantt said:

Seems to me that those of us that own them are, on the whole, relatively happy with them.
No they are not perfect, mine had the what appear to be usual gremlins but they have been sorted.
Don’t understand what drives those with strong opinions to keep turning their opinions into fact.
For what they have been designed for they are very good.
They were never designed for a luxury SUV motorway munching vehicle and don’t get why some think they are. Would you slag off a 911 because it is crap off raod?

Would you slag off a new Defender if it was crap on-road? Of course you would, it’s a brand new, modern car. No need for those compromises.
I see it looks like they've got the paperwork in order for the Vat to be reclaimed on the commercial 2 seat versions. Doesn't affect me but might be helpful to some.
