Still ugly, do not know why this car always gets articles on here at PH. Only decent thing is the engine.
Funny how when Triumph came out with a car the same shape being TR7 it got slated.
Oh my god, I remember this hilarious comment when you compared the two another time. Honestly mate, you need your eyes testing. Funny how when Triumph came out with a car the same shape being TR7 it got slated.

It was pretty quick and third gear was long, up to c.90mph IIRC which was great coming off roundabouts.
Add 15mph to that So - third gear (or any gear) in a standard Coupe had more range than when it was modded, but it just meant I had to be a bit more aware of what gear I was in when making progress - no hardship…
Still have very fond memories of my mates 20V Turbo in green with tan interior. Centre console buttons would regularly disappear into the dash and the filler cap would regular freeze on in the depths of winter.... and also the only 2 door coupe to ever come with a remote controlled stereo?!
But 3rd gear and the soundtrack was immense. Still the fastest I’ve ever been in a car. The sun was rising after a night at Gatecrasher’s summer festival, we had to brake for “that corner” on the M40. Needless to say the wipers had long departed the windscreen and the front was a little light.
He passed up a 20V Turbo LE with full zender body kit in black - it looked incredible!

Loathed these when they were launched, couldn't get on with the styling - but I think they were ahead of their time in some ways and quite colour-sensitive.
Then I came across a low mileage 20V Turbo with a fantastic colour combination you couldn't have had in the UK (it had been ordered new through military sales in Germany). Had five wonderful years in it with no problems to speak of. Even got 38 mpg on a long run up to the Yorkshire Dales.
Still really miss it, particularly that epic engine. Thanks ULEZ.

Well if it is a marmite car that's fine, I like marmite! As soon as I saw a Fiat Coupe on a design programme years ago it became my dream car. Celebrating 21 years of ownership next month. Here's mine at Bicester Heritage after a scramblers meet.
The Fiat Coupe Forum and club have been invaluable both prior to and during ownership. I was lucky to be chosen to have mine on our club stand at the NEC last November. I love going to events and shows with fellow Fiat Coupe owners.
I'll be displaying with Pistonheads again for the Silverstone Classic this year and I'm heading to MBW for the Sunday Service tomorrow morning so maybe see some of you there!
An utterly stunning looking car , and all the more so for largely being free of stylistic nods to the past(unlike that ghastly 124 Spyder pastiche that has mercifully been killed off ) .
I guess the painted dash evokes cars like the Alfa Duetto and the rear lights hint at Ferraris and Etceterinis but the overall shape was head- turningly fresh . I saw my first in the paddock at Cadwell, a red one , and I had to fight the urge to run my fingers along those oh so peachy dimpled headlights . Oddly enough , my OH didn't seem to exhibit the same enthusiasm .

Oddly enough (and at the time I wasnt into cars) I saw a beautiful red one in the Pits at Brands in the mid'90s..chap who was a car designer for Ford in Germany turned up from the Ferry in Dover with his girlfriend having had his track bike delivered for the evening session....the car looked amazing to me as did his girlfriend to be honest. Must of stayed with me I like marmite leftfield designs.
Just bought a 20V. Yet to drive it but was blown away by the 20V Turbo I test drove in 2000. Now I realise this is a different beast, nevertheless I'm sure it will be fast enough for me now. Always adored the styling inside and out, such a distinctive design, I expect there'll always be a sense of occasion when I drive. And it will b e great have someting different.
Not sure about the looks of these, front on looks great, side on is ok, rear not bad.
Loverly engine in the 20V turbo, 16V turbo was slowly but had hilarious turbo lag whi h made it fun.
Really dislike the interior and the handling/ feel I didn't think was up to much.
You used to be able to pick these up for nothing and they really made sense but not so sure at current asking prices

They are great fun to drive & that’s the important thing, I had a Mk5 GTi after my 20VT’s, christ that was dull - kept in 9mths despite being ‘superior’ in almost every way.
