If a good Samaritan offered to park the car neatly, could they be done for driving without insurance and TWOC if the owner was resistant? Hence the car stays abandoned.
Possibly, it is private land so could be towed away I imagine by the parking company that manages the car park. Because you could drive around it it wasn't the end of the world so perhaps no rush to deal with it.

thumbup I thought it must have caught PH’s attention, but I could only think of this thread. Doesn't explain what happened though.

Seems a bit stupid to drive off as they did, surely lift off would have resulted in less damage.

I suppose it doesn't matter much if the damage is so much that it's going to be replaced or fully repaired anyway.

You wouldn't have got it out as it will have locked in.

Do they not have a release/unlock button, or does it lock with the car?

On the socials, in situations like this people people snap off the charging port cover.

Because criminal damage is always the answer to mild inconvenience caused by lack of consideration.

Still can't believe you paid over £40k for a Skoda... tongue out. But it's not about the mild inconvenience for us, it's about the massive inconvenience and peril faced by those who aren't as mobile, or pushing a pram, or blind.

Re the injury claims, would insurance cover the cost of a claim if someone trips and gets injured on what is clearly negligent cable laying? (Arf arf)

You don’t expect people to actually park on their drives do you?
If there’s one thing the last three years has taught me it’s that having a two car drive means never parking two cars on your drive. See my numerous posts on this very thread for examples.

Makes me wonder if it is possible to purchase a set of cable cutters with enough protection to be able to cut the cable safely.
