The original cars were all LHD and with no sunroof. Also the cut out in the rear wing was low down on the road car (although blanked out). Oddly the cut out was high up on the rally car. Not sure if the cut out was for brake cooling or to feed the oil cooler which was in the rear wing on the rally car

Always thought that this was the real deal. Not so sure now?

No that is the real deal too - the later S1 E2 evolution. The drivers complained of terminal understeer in the first Sport Quattros so the wild wing work was to improve grip at the front.

The huge box arches were for cooling. To reduce the weight at the nose (and thus the understeer) the E2 cars had the water radiators in the boot.

This looked pristine, but was being towed, so who knows what was wrong

Well I'm far more informed on SWB quattros now however I thought i had another one for the aficionados but alas I'm.confident this is some sort of kit on a more modest GTB. Shame really

At a monthly Ferrari club show in Thousand Oaks, CA last Sunday, amongst all of the newer Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens, Porsches, etc., I found these 70's icons much more interesting and attractive.
The blue 308 is my friend's car, soon to go on the auction block as he's added an F355 in the same color combination to replace it. The red Pantera is my '72, and the Merak was someone who pulled up and parked with his "generation."

Sadly it looks like someone has butchered an early 308 to make that. It’s not a simple re body job to make a 288 GTO replica. I think the wheelbase is longer on the 288 due to the longitudinal engine layout. That’s why 308s always look wrong as 288 replicas.

The 288 breathes though intakes between the rear side window and the C pillar so that’s another giveaway at this angle but it’s the view from the rear where it normally all goes south for a replica.

How can it be registered as a 288?

It's the Contera MD1 obviously, surely everyone knows that!

Yeah, quite a good turnout considering it was supposed to be thundering rain the whole time. Plenty of cars that seen in isolation would fit this thread well.

If it was it would be a VERY rare spot!
As far as I know there isn't a single Saleen S7 in the UK or possibly even in Europe, a very rare machine with ( I believe) less than 100 built and changing hands now for $1m plus

Check the Gov registration site. It's a '77 308 with the correct 2927 cc engine. The 288 had a smaller capacity 2855 cc twin turbo.

Few more from Wilton House.

I'll point out my 8 year old took a number of these photos!

Not pictured, a lovely yellow Murci SV. Loads of Porsches, including multiple GT.
