Look were focus groups got GM in the past.
Seriously though the Camaro probably cost GM sod all to develop given that it's essentially a re-bodied Holden Commodore/Pontiac G8/Vauxhall VXR8/Chevy Caprice and whatever else the same platform is used for. And it has to be said a bloody good platform it is too. GM ditching Pontiac, and specifically the G8 was madness as it's such a great car. Although I doubt they made any profit on it as there's no way the G8 made any money at the price point it was at in the US. Look how expensive they are in their native OZ for example.
Anyway, ZL1 for me. I'm not into drag racing and having sampled both (albeit lesser versions) the Camaro is a much more resolved package from my European tinted viewpoint. Some easy mods will see it pushing 700hp, but crucially it'll still be able to put it down once you've turned off the drag strip.
True! The Aztec surely is a thing of beauty, but no more spawned by consumer market research than the Camaro or Corvette, to be fair - ZL-1 has (heavier) quad tailpipes, for instance, because potential buyers want it to be easily distinguishable versus SS/RS from the rear.Seriously though the Camaro probably cost GM sod all to develop given that it's essentially a re-bodied Holden Commodore/Pontiac G8/Vauxhall VXR8/Chevy Caprice and whatever else the same platform is used for. I'm with you re the G8 - I got so close to buying a new one - in fact I was about to pull the trigger when GM announced they were killing the Pontiac brand, which put the mockers on it for me. I should have had the courage of my conviction and stretched to a GXP which are even now becoming sought after.
Given a choice of high $50k muscle, I'd be more inclined to go for a Hennessey Challenger...

Not sure why the Challenger is so much more than the Camaro, it does sound the best of the 3 modern muscle cars though in standard guize.I'm with you re the G8 - I got so close to buying a new one - in fact I was about to pull the trigger when GM announced they were killing the Pontiac brand, which put the mockers on it for me. Thanks for that. 52, in case you're wondering. I'm not in the picture in case I offend you.
That's not a car, it's a cry for help... Regiment said:

sit inside and you'll see the extra money IMO - it really is a nicer place to be than the Camaro (never driven a new Mustang so I can't comment)K2MDL said:

You get my vote
"If I could have just one car that would serve all my automotive needs, it would have to be a TVR, but what model? I'd want a Griffith 500, a Tamora, or a Cerbera 4.5, but preferably all three.
Thanks, but it's a simple matter of wanting what you can't have, since I live in the US. Besides, fantasy cars never have any reliability problems. You get my vote

They keep saying how much better the new Mustang interior is but I just don't see it. I far prefer the original 2005 dash.
They say it because it is in terms of comfort and refinement (I have had both). The aesthetics are a matter of personal taste as clearly shown in your picture. wjk_glynn said:
