The Nordshleife hasn't hosted F1 since Lauda's crash in 76, and it seems they were lapping around the 7 minute mark for the full 14 mile track, which is over a mile longer than the full circuit now.

Anyone else heard that the P1 time was 6:35 ?!!!!!!!!!!

there are rumours that it ran a sub 6.40 but they are just rumours, however after seeing it in Harris's hands that time is not totally unbelievable but would need proper verification

This was in good faith - but the source (3rd hand - so unverifiable), I understand, is a McLaren employee who was in attendance.

Will believe it when a proper video of the lap is released with at least some semi independent verification of the lap like evo or sportauto.
