New F-type or lightly used Aston?

Which bit of a 458 or F-type isn't "good enough"?
Both stunning cars IMO.
Astons are like TVRs - the cheap one looks exactly the same as the expensive one. Mind you, plenty of cheap examples of both these days. Still eye-watering running costs though.
I presume this reply is not to me? I think the 458 is one of the best cars ever made, if not the best. Fantastic vehicle. Both stunning cars IMO.

Yes, well the DB9 has changed very little style wise, so you can get very 'big money looks' for relatively little cash. Though as you say big running costs remain.

My colleague had a V8V and had endless reliability issues, as did my friends dad, as did endless other people. Reliability on those models is terrible.
How odd. People in the real world report no such reliability issues. Have a look around the AM portion of PH to find out for sure. White Goodman - I was in a similar position this time last year. Older AMV8 or (After driving Porsche, Merc, BMW) a new Jag V8S.
Me remit was simples; Worked my nuts off for 15 years, time for a treat. I wanted a sportscar. Had to be RWD, plenty of grunt and a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde so that the dragon could have a drive as well!
When I was in my early 20's I used to drive from Dorset all the way up to Newport Pagnell (In my Capri), I was going out with a gal who's dad designed the folding hood mechanisms for AM amongst other things. That wetted my taste for AM, nowt to do with the badge or any of that B.S; for me it was the looks.
....So, test drove a 2009 (Budgetary restraints meant that I couldn't get a new'un) AMV8 drop top loved it.
Looked beautiful, sounded gorgeous. Gear changes were a slap in the back, but maybe I didn't have the experience to get the best out of the auto box?
The thing that stopped me from going AM, was that interior seemed to have been built by Peter Purvis and John Noakes a Blue Peter project. The Satnav was double sided sticky taped to a cardboard toilet tube flap that sprang out of the Kellogs corn flake box dash - you get the idea.
Time for a test drive in the F.
V6S good, V8S better. Nothing failed to delight. Drove them at Millbrook as well; V6, V8 and the R's - lovely, just what the doctor ordered.
There are a few minor software niggles, and yes it has a fat arse, but not an ugly one like most cars. That said it's got a nice face!
That's my take on it FWIW. The AM still for me at least has a very slight advantage in the looks dept, but I don't regret spending our life savings on a spankers V8S. Don't listen to anyone on here including me. Go with your heart and buy the Jag ;-)
Watch the quality and finish on the Jags though - it's pretty shoddy in the paint and metalwork division if you have a keen eye. Mine's currently going through the rejection process :-(

How odd. People in the real world report no such reliability issues. Have a look around the AM portion of PH to find out for sure. And the db9 hasn't changed apparently, well apart from the interior changes in 09 and the body makeover in 13 plus the constant refinement each year. But then if its not broke, why fix it.
And driving any volante Aston (as opposed to the roadsters) and then thinking they are ponsy is someone who really doesn't understand the brand and range. They'd have a different opinion in a v12 vantage roadster.
The truth is, we all have personal tastes and value different things. Few of the differences people cite on here are objective, they're all subjective.
