Insurance - extra cover for France or dual insurance problem
Discussion
Hi,
We are going on a family holiday to France this summer, me, wife and kids in one car and daughter-in-law using father-in-law's car (much more reliable than her VW, and having working aircon!) to complete the numbers, with her paying extra premium to use the car in France.
Problem is - father-in-laws ins co. won't insure daughter-in-law to drive in France unless father-in-law comes too!
Is it possible, for example, to insure daughter-in-law with a different ins co., just for the trip, or would this be frowned on as dual-insurance, i.e. car is already insured by father-in-law's ins co.?
I don't remember having this type of problem with track-days years ago, when I had a diferent ins co. insure me just for the day?
Any advice much appreciated!
