Are you thinking of buying it without taking a look? If so its about as safe as buying it in a motorway services car park, in the dark, in the rain, with a blindfold on with the seller shouting "Hand over your money now".

It depends how cheap it is worth taking a punt on it, and can you afford to fix the hidden problems once you get it home?

"Warranty
All vehicles are sold as seen with NO WARRANTY. "

???

Is that right?
It's advertised through ebay, from a dealer - so I thought you'd have bit of comeback?
No?

Hmmm the business name uses the words Car Auction, yet all their listings are classified ads. Despite this, they still seem to believe that "All usual Auction Terms & Conditions apply."

As I see it, whilst you would be covered by SOGA and they should provide a warranty I'd not want the hassle of arguing the point with them whilst the car's languishing somewhere with broken parts. I'd not be tempted, no matter how cheap it was.

I was looking for an e39 530d for about 3-4 months.

That one has been around a while I think, I recognise the pics.

Quite a few like that where I wondered about taking a punt, but 6 months later they are still for sale.

Good ones don't hang about !!

I still hanker...

And as Jagnet says further on its is not worth the risk.

If you regard £3,000 as worth a punt there are better cars with better warranty about surely worth trying.

If you but at a trade auction I really think warranty is out.

If you buy unseen at a trade auction your are brave or foolish.
