That warm feeling....

...you get when you finally fix something.
About six months ago my Mondeo started randomly cutting out, no rhyme or reason. Stuck it into my local Indy who are normally very good, but strangely they drew a blank. I ended up SORNing it, and every other Sunday or so I'd go out, chuck a few spanners around, huff and puff, and then give up. I'm by no means an accomplished mechanic but I like to think I know my way around under a bonnet.
But today I finally fixed the bd! It was a hidden relay tucked under the battery tray which was mullered and so overheating.
Tonight I've got that warm glow of satisfaction

Going back a few years, I had a poorly running MX5 which would hestitate and stutter. I had not done any spanner work up until then, but decided I'd give it a go.
Spent and evening researching and ordering stuff online, then proceeded to spend a saturday afternoon changing the oil, filters, spark plugs and HT leads.
Took the car out and it ran like a dream (HT leads were the culprit).
Enjoyed a nice cold one to go along with my warm feeling that evening.

Nice story, op. Well done
There was this one time I was going out for a run. Now normally my windscreen is pretty handy for looking through, especially when you want to see the road ahead. On this day though it was a different matter. It was covered in white stuff, surprisingly like bird poo and was very difficult to see through. So, got in the car and starter her up. Damn, I can't see very well, were my thoughts. Tried to pull the lever thing that skooshes water, it didn't work. Ok, I'll try my sleeve and give it a little clean. This just made it worse. I called my brother in law who is a mechanic but he wasn't in, was turning out to be a bit of a disaster as I was really looking forward to a little run. Next thought was to look under he bonnet thing, presuming something in there may be broken. Looks around all the stuff and see if there's anything broken looking or loose but couldn't find anything. Just as I was away to shut the bonnet I see this little bottle with a yellow lid and marked with a little water logo, could this be it? I put my nose down to smell it but couldn't smell anything. I chanced it and went into the house to see if my wife had any spare water, she kindly filled up a kettle for me and I returned to the car and put the water in. Genius, it worked!! It really was a great feeling that day as I know absolutely nothing about cars
