I was out in Manchester last night and randomly saw these guys pull an F1 car out of a trailer sometime in the early hours! biggrin

Show car? There was a Red Bull in Watford Asda last year.

It's not a proper F1 car - front wing isn't correct.

It was on show in Lakeside last weekend.

There was a Force India car in Sainsbury's earlier this year. These are showcars doing promotions for sponsors.

Whatever it is its either a good few years old, or from a different series. That nose is all wrong for what car its supposed to be

I prefer it when they keep the cars original with updated livery.
This R28 struck me as looking much better than it did in 2008 with the ING branding.


At least they are being used for something.

Show cars usually 'sell' to sponsors for around £40,000 for a season or two with transportation fees added. The branding will change each season but certain less well funded teams will use older cars and alter them to look more current. Twelve years ago I used to use these for a well known team as marketing tools at trade shows, product launches, PR events and obviously GP's. Many of these cars are made in the UK and other than the inside look very close to the real thing if properly designed, tyres etc.
