To cut a long story short my GF was sitting in the car with it running, I walked around the back of the car and noticed "liquid" dropping out the exhaust. I asked her to rev it and when she did lots of black soot came out the exhaust and more drips of liquid. The car is a 2005 1.4 Corsa. It has always used a little bit of oil since I've had it, roughly 1 litre for every 1000 miles.

Thanks for any advice given.

It had been sitting for roughly half an hour after a 6 hour drive so I guess It would have started to cool.

It's why you never share carburettor needles.

It's water condensing.

When a gallon of petrol is burnt, almost a gallon of water is produced as a by-product. Normally this is invisible as it turns instantly to steam due to the high exhaust temperature. When the engine/exhaust is cooler, it can condense as water and drip out of the tailpipe.

Sounds pretty bad OP, try a double oil change with an engine flush and then replace the flux capacitor and everything should be back to normal.
