645ci buyers guide

[T16OLE]

I'm viewing a 2004 645ci later today, it's a one owner car with 12 stamps in the book and appears pretty well kept.

What are the common issues?

From trolling the internet they seem to be;-

Engine, gearbox & coolant leaks
i-drive issues
Smoke from the exhaust

If anyone can shed any additional light on the subject I`ll be very grateful

I think this months Performance BMW magazine or BMW Car Magazine has a 630i (same year as what you are looking at) buyers guide this month, plus & minus points should be fairly similar I think.

The N62 engine is starting to exhibit a coolant leak problem. I sold mine, and a month later it started to leak. Massive bills. So much so that there is now an aftermarket solution. Have a read here...
