The ones I have used end up still letting the car get wet and eventually making the car mouldy inside.

Would be interested in which ones stop this too.

I bought one from TK Chavs a few weeks ago. Haven't tried it out yet.

My main purpose was to stop water getting into the car, protecting the soft top and keeping the frost at bay.

Will it work? Well, for 12 quid.... I doubt it.

I think mine is from CoverYourCar or something; it's their Venturer model. Keeps the car dry and is breathable. About £70.
Only issue is, in really high winds it can ride up around the corners even when strapped up. Not done any damage though.

I'm a bit sceptical of car covers anyway in terms of protection. Most of them tend to move around a fair bit when it's windy so unless your car's totally spotless, any grit in there's going to be rubbed over the paint. And even with no grit it's still being rubbed on the protruding areas (no giggling at the back there!) which has to be more detrimental than being exposed to the weather.

The big thick quality covers with good straps might be alright though

If you want to keep it completely dry, you probably need an inflated bubble style cover.

I stopped using the one on my MX5 as it moved about too much. I high winds it had pretty much blown off, just the strap holding it on in a tangled mess!

I used one of these for a while (before renting a garage) they work well. Not cheap but doesn't seem to cause scratches and keeps the car dry.
