Hi all, does anyone know if there is either a gear box or adaptor for a gear bow so the 2.0 V6 FTO can be used in a RWD car?

Will mite going in a kit car if it can, so still a lot to look into as size wise etc, but the main concern is if it can converted to RWD.

cheers

Possibly the worst combo to convert to rwd, parts not readily available, not an especially good engine & its transverse to start with.

Not aware of any adapters.

Not sure how you think it is not a good engine though. 200bhp and 8500rpm redline with MIVEC was pretty nice when I had it.

Better off hacking up a GTO as they're 4WD to start, so at least the engine and gearbox are at least facing the right way?

You can buy my FTO if you like and just drive it really fast backwards, it should give the same kind of effect?....

Why not consider an RB20 or RB25 ??

Serious power, cheap, bulletproof ( mainly), plentiful spares and straight six sound track !!

There is NO WAY I would use an fto lump in anything... Terrible things...second only to the rx8 !! ( All my opinion and experience only ).. wink

It was never fitted in RWD from the factory so there's a bit of work to do. If you're doing a kit car I would look again to find an engine and gearbox combo that was fitted in the arrangement you need (presume front engine, rear wheel drive) as it will make the build much simpler (cheaper!).

The 3000GT/GTO are transverse mounted much like an Evo.
