You guessed it -another what car thread

I'm looking for another car, however, I have a slightly unusual requirement.

The car must accelerate fast enough to give you that "humpback bridge" feeling. My short list includes Westfield Duratec, Caterham R500 and Ariel Atom. Any others to add to the list, I really want to add an Ultima, but the silver demonstrator didn't do it, but that may have been because the road was a bit damp and they held back a bit.

I know a GT-R is fast, but is it really that fast? Plus I don't really like them.

Just Googled it, yes the GT-R can be that fast, but no, still don't like them, too mainstream.

No to Porsche, just never felt the love, plus they just don't look special enough, nor does the GT-R, most non petrol heads wouldn't give them a second glance. An Ultima or Caterham gets noticed wherever you go.

As for budget, preferably around £30k but may go to £45k if the car is right.

Depends on the humpback bridge in question. If you can give me an engineering drawing of said humpback bridge and an approximation of your velocity as you passed over it I could calculate the acceleration required.

Caterham R500, or R400 and bang a turbo and wider rear wheels on - THEN you'll have a fast accelerating car.



However, if you want something in budget, and REALLY fast, you'll need two wheels.

If it is all about acceleration, and indeed the feeling of it, then nothing will probably beat a Caterham/Atom etc.

Lol 30K, but can rise to 45!

For me it's can rise extra £500 if the car is right :P
