Is this a scam?

My car is for sale on Auto Trader, I have been contacted by this company- bestdeal-autotrader.com. They say if I deposit £75 to them, a buyer they have arranged will come and purchase my car. Sounds dodgy to me, does anyone have any experience of this type of company?

It's scam*, however if you don't believe me, I'll do it for £60.

• probably a bit more sophisticated than simple stealing - your £75 is probably a "fee for their services" or something with a load of small print. I would put my £75 on the "buyer" tragically changing their plans at the last minute - if anyone would give me odds.

EDIT - from other threads it does seem to be a straightforward case of take your money.

In the T&C's it's always 9a (or 8a or 7a - something-a anyway) that mentions the fee - never 9 or 10, always 9a. Why ?
