"Sleeper" Cars
Discussion
I know it's more of an american thing and it's not often talked about over here, but just wondering what peoples thoughts are on sleeper cars?
Personally never liked the idea of having a slow & old looking car with huge performance, but after thinking about it that wolf in sheep's clothing effect would be cool.
Thoughts?

Can't imagine driving anything else other than a sleeper. certainly better than having a 2.0 diesel with s-line or M body kits.
Those kinds of cars remind me off the kid from the Inbetweeners who is going on about how many sorts they shagged last weekend but when it actually comes down to it he's not all that when it comes to pulling. I'd rather be the quiet, average looking bloke we all know that somehow always pulls...
you don't look a threat so people don't challenge you on the road, but every now and then it is fun to watcg people when thry think 'wtf just happened there?'.

When did these stop being known as Q-cars?
Both terms are valid, it comes from q ships http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q-ship
Most normal people can not tell a AMG / M / RS cars from the normal stuff
Corsa C with a Z20LET
225 BHP
I still wouldn't say that's a sleeper. I have upgraded suspension/brakes and other supporting modifications. Its a sleeper in a sense, I can't figure out how, as I don't particularly know the true definition of a sleeper. Bit embarrassing getting blown to pieces by 225bhp and 1000kg in a Corsa, then stopping at the next lights with your Mrs in the car, Ha. It's not a sleeper because its fast, its a sleeper because its a Vauxhall Corsa which is unsuspecting. I have figured it out, unsuspecting? Obviously that's the whole point of a sleeper, but peopel are sheep and badge snobs, so a BMW/Mercedez/Audi wouldn't have the same SHOCK factor, because people think they're fast because of the Badges. Corsa is known as a learners car, learners, ha!
Mondeo ST220
Audi A3 3.2 Quatrro
Those are two cars with looks basic, especially the A3, I'd class those as sleepers.

Ford do a Mondeo estate with the Focus ST engine in, think its called a Titanium X or something, always though they are pretty cool.
I came up against a remapped one the other night, he'd even put diesel badges on it, it wasn't until I slowed to turn of that I heard the dump valve and exhaust that I realised it wasn't an epic diesel! I blame that on the fact it was 2amAh, I'd always thought a q car was as she came from the factory, so there'd normally be some indication that things weren't quite as they seemed- a spoiler, tyres and arches etc, but a sleeper was where the car had been modified by the owner, often without modifying the rest of the car- i.e. you couldn't really tell that it was hot.

None of the cars mentioned are sleepers. This is a sleeper:
