Has anyone done this?

We were thinking of taking 3 out one weekend for a blast from their south base to London for lunch then blast back (120 miles max)

Any recommendations or are there better experiences to go for?

Go for it, but forget going to London.
Have a look at this thread for better 'blatting' roads...there are some great ideas for routes.
