These lifting devices from the US appealed to me when I saw them first but they were unavailable here at the time. I had a message from an Estonian importer this morning to tell me that the products have now got CE marks and can be bought here from them. My only reservation is lateral stability, but otherwise they look pretty useful. Usual disclaimers about no connection to me etc.

It looks as though the left and right jacks aren't connected other than by the lift hose...

The would worry be re: stability.

That's my concern too. They are separate items. The higher the lift, the more unstable they become, potentially. That apart they look very handy.

They look a similar width to axle stands, and people have been working with those for years without cars falling off.

How safe are they? Without a mechanical lock I'd be worried about them letting themselves down...

They look to have a mechanical locking strut on them.

I can't see one. The blue one in the picture above is not the one they are talking about (that blue one looks really good)

The scissor jacks are very good with one proviso and that is access to the centre of the underside of the vehicle is obstructed.

Good point about axle stands! The Quickjack does appear to have a support strut in the pictures. Whether it has more than one location point isn't clear - it may be full lift only.
