Now. Just got an email from BMW... I do like this for the mrs. Looking a bit Mazda CX-3 but as a compact 'SUV' in that segment I think it looks good. Far better than X4/6.

Is there already a thread?

Wasn't expecting to like this from the title but looks great, but [old man mode]boot opening should come down to the number plate area though[/old man mode]

Yes that's what I'm expecting.

You can see the concept-ness in the comedy aggressive air intakes, swoopy exhaust surrounds, wing mirrors etc. However underneath there I think is a nice looking production ready car.

Yep, i like it.

Wonder if it'll keep the BMW badges on the rear pillars.

No doubt will be toned down a bit...not too much hopefully.

I've asked myself this question too and I can only think it's because they like the SUV image and being high up but may be intimidated by the size of a full fat SUV, especially if they live in a city. Whatever the case, they have taken over the traditional hatchback as the go to car for women as far as I can see.

As for the concept, looks pretty cool but the production version won't look like that I reckon, it will just look like a smaller X4.

I don't think it's target demographic would give a stuff.

Yup, doesn't seem to have done the FWD Evoque's much harm.

UKL platform based, so will likely be sold in fwd and awd versions like the current X1's.

I like that. I can guarantee it will look almost nothing like that if it ever makes production though.

BMW concept cars usually do look like the final product, though....so why do you think this? Just out of question.

I just know it will get toned down, which is fair enough i suppose as it needs to meet certain criteria on the public roads.

Also, none of the other BMW "X" cars look quite so stylish and sleek as this is so i'm struggling to see why a smaller version would be looking as such.

It does look quite good however

X1
X2
X3
X4
X5
X6

Do they really need Six different SUV models?

I also see concept images of an x7 so that could be potentially 7 different suv models.

IMO the new Countryman will be hard to beat in the desirability stakes. An all4 would be ideal for the Missus.

I do like those concept pics though.

Their marketing and research department clearly think so.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 series. Do they really need all of those? Well, I've seen all of them on the road so clearly someone thinks so!

bit similar to the Maser Levante, probably smaller though
