I am surprised it lasted this long in print, not bad going 34 years.

The original, a good 6 years before Max Power, although the mag was a lot different back then.

I meant out of the original 4 of Max Power / Revs / Redline / Fast Car, more about car culture/mods. Banzai mag ceased in the middle of 2020

The irony of calling it Fast Car when most of the cars featured are slower than when they left the factory due to all the rubbish the owners do to them.....

From that link it appears it's only ceasing to exist in print medium, but remains in digital format via the website / social media.

That must have been an interesting, but probably very easy financially, decision for Kelsey media given that it was the last of the known brands of the original modified mags. As with previous mags (big & small) the cost of putting it into print format vs the sales return probably isn't great or profitable anyway.

Last time i read a copy of FC was probably mid '00's when i was still going to shows with the modded cars i had during that time. In any case, the current generation of car modders won't have been regularly buying physical copies of Fast Car in big numbers given that the modded scene they cover is essentially digital / social media based.

I'm sure it was mentioned on one of the threads related to the previous mags like MaxP, that most of those made money through the advertising slots, which in the '90's / early to mid '00's versions of the big mags like Max, Revs, FC seemed to be filled with numerous pages full of various porn related mobile / text / chat / dvd services. I remember when either Max, FC or Redline briefly ran a monthly feature on a car containing the usual topless softcore shots, but was really essentially an advert for whichever porn / modelling company had done the shoot, with access details, or how you could go about viewing the full 18+ xxx version online or buy the DVD featuring the same model "enjoying" herself in / on the car.

I used to read CCC and Fast Car before they lost their way - had a few cars featured in them too as it enhanced their value, I was even on the cover of Fast Ford woohoo

I haven't bought a car magazine for probably 20 years - can't see the point with all the info out there, quite surprised any are still going

Remember the first few issues of ‘Revs’ well. Had quite a bit on bikes.

The legendary Jimmy Miller ‘road testing’ cars on airfields as he was banned from the roads.

Great articles on 200mph on the Autobahn.

When crap after the first few issues when it became another Barry Boy modded car mag.

I remember reading some of the Max Powers as a 13 year old, on the back page they used to interview women at the cruises and ask them questions like “spit or swallow” and “pink or brown”, so classy.

I seem to remember they got into a bit of trouble, as they failed to check the young ladies interviewed weren't also 13.

I seem to remember 13 was about the right age for the girlfriend of the sort of lads that drove Max Power wannabe cars?

But.......there will be Very few on here that remember the “ original “ ( and best ) Fast Car magazine.
This one only ran for about 18 months, during 1973 and 74.
My Late Dad bought a few issues for me. It really was a superb mag, memories of the issue with the circa 1969 Big Block 427 Stingray and this issue from 74, with the BAT CSL will stay with me forever.
Graham Hill OBE wrote for the mag.
I have just one issue left that Dad bought me ( a 911 Carrera impact bumper feature ) in which Graham Hill OBE joined the writing team and some years ago I got hold of this BAT CSL issue.
I must track down the Stingray issue.

Jimmy Miller!

fking hell, that's a name I've not heard in years

Jim, Hammerson, and "Da Chief" were awesome on early Fast Bikes vids like "Pulp Friction"
