Check out the Revuelto built especially for fans

Sant'Agata Bolognese really put its shoulder into the first Lamborghini Arena event...

Lamborghini had plenty to celebrate at the weekend, not least the first staging of its new two-day extravaganza, Lamborghini Arena. A somewhat odd name for an event not actually staged in an arena (it happened at Imola Circuit, which, to be fair, is cooler than say, Bolton Arena) but the list of things going on was not odd; indeed, it was a jam-packed programme by all accounts, that included everything from museum exhibits to garage tours. Plus cars: lots of them. As many as 352 on the track for a special parade on Sunday, not to mention a whole host of Huracán Super Trofeos and even the Essenza SCV12 hypercars.

“Lamborghini Arena is a celebration of the love and passion that people have for our brand. We are really proud to have staged such a unique event, which comes at a very special time for our company, following last year’s 60th-anniversary celebrations and in the 2024 year that coincides with the hybridization of the whole range,” said CEO, Stephan Winkelmann. “We want to share moments that are so important to us with our fans, and the aim is to bring together the whole Lamborghini community in one place at an event that is truly open to everyone, from clients and enthusiasts to employees. These two days were entirely dedicated to Lamborghini style, something we are very proud of.”

PH is no stranger to organising events for thousands of people (we may have mentioned this) so we know how much effort goes into making them hum along. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to go all jazz hands in a way that only a car manufacturer can pull off: cue the special one-off Revuelto created to mark the occasion. A product of the Ad Personam customisation service, the car looks relatively understated in Grigio Hati grey with Verde Scandal green details - but Lamborghini reckons that's all the better for highlighting the roof, rear spoiler, air intakes, sill inserts and other details, which are in high-gloss carbon fibre.

Factor in the split 21- and 22-inch alloys, and we’re inclined to think it looks pretty good. Although we’re yet to see a 1,015hp Revuelto that doesn’t look the business. Naturally, it gets a special interior, too, and while this mostly mirrors the stealth-themed exterior, it does get an embroidered bulkhead panel lining depicting a map of the Imola Circuit, with the track in Bianco Leda white, and the gravel traps in Verde Scandal green. Which is a nice touch.

Compared to Miura, Countach prototype, Diablo, and early Murcialago, this is overdone - bordering on crass.

It’ll sell like haribos at a school fair.

It looks how it does out of necessity, especially the rear. The amount of cooling 1000bhp worth of V12, batteries and motors need, is immense.

Talk of models from generations ago being more elegant is moot.

I thought the story was going to end with news that one lucky fan will get to win one of these cars made ‘especially’ for them.

But, er, no.

Miura blah blah.
This looks like an Lamborghini. As it should. And it did for decades.
Love it. My dream car.

It looks like a Lykan Hypersport crossed with an Aventador. The Aventador is a pretty sharp design, this is really over-complicated. I know the Revuelto has been out a while, but this particular one showcases quite how complex (over-complex?) the shape really is. In isolation it’s great of course, but some of its predecessors are just as impressive with fewer complicated and borderline aftermarket-looking details.

Neither sleek, svelte, beautiful, aggressive or challenging...I do hope it looks less ste in the plastic, those images do not flatter. I'll be happy if it's just me, they'll sell because of the brand and bragging rights, but would love to hear of any here that genuinely get giddy about it.

Miura, Jarama, come on pretty mama...

I have to agree. Looks purposeful and angry just sitting still.

Yes please.

Not at all. You can provide cooling without being as ugly as that. The Holy Trinity all did it in a way that was better integrated and didn't look as though the front and rear had been designed by different people who had fallen out with each other.

From the rear the Revuelto is a fussy mess of jarring angles. I didn't like the styling at all in the first pictures, but seeing it at FoS last year I liked it - until I got to the back.

Those massive wheels might work on an Urus, but I do wonder what size the chassis engineers would pick as the optimum if they were released from the stylists? Is really low profile good from a control point of view when you've got such a big heavy car, where does the ability to ride bumps start to suggest more side wall?

Single, simple colour schemes without all the carbon look a while lot better

You entirely miss my point.

My comment was purely in relation to pointless comparisons to 60 year old designs such as the Miura, for the reasons I stated.

The opinions on the styling of the more recent and relevant cars you mention is entirely subjective.

My opinion is the the LaF is ugly and poorly proportioned, the 918 is quite bland and WP version tacky, and the P1 is fantastic looking.

Your opinion may vary. beer

The paint job is awful. Darker colours suit it much better.

You said "it looks how it does out of necessity", based on cooling requirements - that's the bit that I was disagreeing with. The P1 is also my favourite of those three, and I agree with you on the other two; the P1 manages the necessary cooling without looking like a pile of randomly discarded Lego.

The people who are always very critical and dismiss hypercars like this as being ugly, crass, overdone and words suchlike, will presumably be welcoming EV's with open arms when they are the only type of vehicle in current production.
It is ironic however that the same people often hark back to a time long ago when they think cars looked better than they do today.

Oh and just for the record I think this is a fantastic car!

It’s an awesome car that. In a post mid engined corvette world the styling to me is not totally unique but I still love it.
