Meet the speakers of Annual Service 2025!

Smith and Sniff live, F1's Harry Benjamin and BTCC race winner Charles Rainford join a stacked live-stage lineup

PistonHeads Annual Service powered by Michelin is oh so nearly upon us, and while we’ve still got a few loose ends to tie up, we have managed to cobble together a list of fantastic speakers who’ll take to the live stage and keep you entertained at Bicester Motion throughout the day on August 9th.

Once again, we’re bringing the mega stage back, which is a bit like the Annual Service equivalent of Glastonbury’s Pyramid, only with a bit more elbowroom and a bit less music. What we do have, however, is a jam-packed lineup that covers everything from racers to restomods, home-brews to record breakers.

So who - and what - exactly have we bagged, then? Those of you who stopped by our stand at last weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will have seen the Larkin Feroxa V8 prototype proudly parked up out front. It’ll be driven on stage by its creator and PHer, Douglas Larkin, who’s documented every step of the build in this forum thread. He’ll be followed by friend of PH and BTCC star, Charles Rainford, to explain how you go from racing with PH in EnduroKa to winning in touring cars. Then it’s onto TWR’s Fergus Walkinshaw and Khyzyl Saleem, and how they went about turning a Jaguar XJ-S into the 669hp Supercat.

Formula 1 commentator, Harry Benjamin, will also take to the stage as the sport marks its 75th anniversary, followed by McMurtry’s David Turton on how a plucky team from Gloucestershire managed to smash so many lap records. Then it's on to Steffen Dobke, founder of Analogue Automotive, on how to go about perfecting one of the greatest sports cars ever made, the Lotus Elise S1. As if that wasn’t enough, we’ll have a live podcast recording from our friends Jonny Smith and Richard Porter off of Smith and Sniff. Hilarity will indeed ensue.

Here’s the full guest list:

  • How to build a sports car with Douglas Larkin
  • From EnduroKa to winning in BTCC with Charles Rainford
  • Reviving a legend with TWR
  • Smith and Sniff live podcast
  • F1 75 with Harry Benjamin
  • Driving upside-down with McMurtry
  • Perfecting perfection with Analogue Automotive

With all that plus hundreds of cars on display, from ultra-rare supercars to modified monsters, there ought to be more than enough to keep you busy throughout the day. So pick up a ticket if you haven’t already, because you’re not going to want to miss our biggest show to date.
