Im sure i haven't imaged this, but i remember some footage of Colin Mcrae driving a Welsh morning stage in thick fog with his lights off?

Am i going mad or did this actually happen?

Yep it actually happened, vividly remember watching the coverage back in the good old days when the BBC were actually doing WRC coverage justice.

Yep I seem to vaguely remember this, was it because the fog was reflecting back and he could see better without them?

While I'm no pro rally driver, having driven on normal roads in thick fog, I can believe it!! Dipped and full beam gave me a wall of white which was useless for seeing anything.

Yeah I always use dipped beam when its thick fog, I think I'll have to have a go at doing it with no lights on, not!

Talk about having faith in your co-driver, he must have been following Nicky Grist's instructions explicitly.

Fog on a motorbike is the best.

Have you ever noticed that when you're driving it looks mega foggy but when you get out of your card you can see more? Well on a bike, lift visor et voila instant visibility!!
