Indeed. I'll be happier when the section of wall below that is finished on Tuesday and it is backfilled!

Getting there......

There is another meter + behind the cars, just a load of crap in the back at the moment.

Thanks chaps.

It's been a really hard slog, but nearly there - the winter f*cked us over a lot, and we (the builder who dug and did the retaining walls) has worked out we dug out 100 tonnes of earth!!

Strange question but what do you do with the earth?, can you sell it?.

Ironically we needed some back to backfill the walls, but it got taken away by grab lorries (blocking the lane at times!). All cost, and then we paid to get some back!! (Well all priced into the landscaping/retaining wall cost, which I should say matched the cost of the garage it's self!)

Having seen the before and after in person, it's actually mad, the amount of space there is now compared to before!

Yep, hopefully worth the effort and ££! (and some value added to the house I hope).

Thanks. Nice to get positive reaction - especially when one of my neighbours objected and suggested we should build something with a flat roof!!

Taken me a few years to get a garage. Now just need to save up again for the weekend toy.....

I'd love a garage like that in the future, is it just a store above or workshop?

Upstairs is currently a store, but plans long term...

What I should point out is that the floor joists are nice and strong, and the roof joists happen to be velux sized in a few places..... wink

No good pics of the roof space at the moment to hand, but a "dormer" off the back will allow for a lovely office/guest suite opening out onto the garden with shower etc.

PS, can people recommend good/easy to install/not too expensive garage flooring please?
