Early 90s and I'm heading up to Glasgow on the A74. It was snowing heavily and the road was down to 1 lane, everyone crawling along at around 30mph.

Everyone except the numpty who thought he could cope speeding up the outside lane through the snow. About a mile later he was getting tooted at by everyone as he got out of his car at the top of the banking where he'd spun off. Dressed in just a business suit, he'd have a long cold walk to the nearest emergency phone!
Very similar for me about 15 years ago on the M25 when we'd had some really heavy snow. 2 of the lanes just about clear and a guy in a Merc not happy with the speed of those 2 lanes bombing in the next lane which was still half covered in snow and slush.

A short while later I came across the Merc again stranded on the hard shoulder with the front of it facing traffic.

I pulled into a petrol station (ipswich asda) where there are "lanes" of 2 pumps, so once you're in one you can't get passed the car in front until they have finished.

I pulled up to the front pump, then noticed the diesel was out of order, so rolled back to the rear pump and began filling. 30 seconds later a car pulled in behind me and out of nowhere it got very busy with cars queuing 4 or 5 deep at each lane, nose to tail. The woman bipped at me and gestured that i should be at the front pump, and began shouting and ranting. I smiled.

She gets out and hurls abuse, I smile more, and explain the diesel is off so i cant use that one, and besides I'm already half way through. I'll only be a minute. This falls on deaf ears and she continues to rage. I smiled again.

I finish and drive forward, she gets right up my bumper and main beams me, beeping still. I complete the u-turn section and come back past her to exit and she has hopped out the car and tried to fill it with diesel. Unfortunately it was still out of order, but the queue had moved up with her and there was a car at the rear pump already filling up, so she had no choice to go round and join the back of the queue. She was quite cross.

This morning two ‘innit’ bruvs in black Merc AMG reversed straight onto road despite seeing me come along. Not a big deal - it’s 20mph and i just slowed down but not leaving them much room to reverse. Merc screams down the road at twice the limit and then joins a traffic jam on the A3. They were in the third lane and I meander past in the lane 1. I see (and hear) this car weaving in and out of traffic trying to get past and they manage to make it a few cars ahead but this time stuck behind a smoking diesel filling their car with smoke. I eventually see them pull aggressively back across the left lane to get off the A3. I averaged 50mph the entire time whilst the driver got no further than if he had driven normally.

Karma is possibly questionable, but it involves road rage this guy definitely embarrassed himself, I know I've posted this story on different threads but always amuses me.

In Tesco car park and a Clio comes flying across a row of spaces straight in front of a Vectra, who's driver blows their horn. Clio stops and this small nerdy looking chap gets out the Clio shouting and swearing, calling the Vectra driver a "" many many times. Vectra driver gets out and he's an absolute mountain of a man, Clio chap quickly stops shouting, runs back to his car and wheelspins off as the Vectra driver shouts "that's what I thought". The commotion meant a small crowd had gathered and they all laughed as the Clio driver ran off.

A bit of karma that doesn't count as it involves me, but I think worthy of a post. Last year I got rear ended in traffic by a scrote in a Mk4 Golf scrote mobile, who then sped off in an incredibly dangerous fashion while drinking from a can of Stella. Unfortunately for him a plain clothed police officer is walking past at the time, sees everything including his can of Stella and calls it in, the driver is found, stopped and arrested for "failing to provide a specimen" within about 10 minutes of him driving off, he then spends nearly the full 24 hours in custody, and gets a driving ban, when all he had to do was give his details (he was insured). The driver was caught drink driving again a month later, this time getting a massive fine and a suspended sentence, personally I think he should have actually been jailed.

Nor personally witnessed, but caught on film.

It's as old as the hills, but whenever karma is mentioned I always think of boy vs wall. Probably best ignored if you don't like seeing teens hurt themselves.

.. using first pump shenanigans ..
Had similar in a Porsche 968. That car seemed to attract alot of hate to the extent I have not owned a Porsche since. Pull up to the first pump to fill up with 98. I see a Jeep stop inches from my rear bumper. He could have just driven past me to the pump in front. As I get out and start to fill up - he's still sat there staring at me angrily until I have filled up. Then asks me "why didn't you use the first pump?". I explain that my car needs 98. He reverses, drive past and gets out - only to realise that the filler on his Jeep is on the other side. He then has to move to another lane of pumps. I swear he just didn't like me or the car!

Watch a guy get out his car and berate a young girl with p plates on her car struggling to get out a junction in heavy traffic. Could see her panicking a little but all was fine when a man who turned out to be her dad was in the car behind the clown who jumped out and proceeded to not so kindly tell the clown to get back in his car and foxtrot Oscar.

Will never forget the look of fear when a bigger, meaner dad gave him the same treatment he dished out, sheepishly jumped into his car and didn’t say another word. hehe

Probably 6 or 7 years ago I was on the A3 going Northbound past Guildford and just after the town it becomes the A3(M) with a third lane and N/S/L.

But as the third lane is added on the left nobody seems to move into it. So I speed up to my usual indicated 80 or so (so within the 10% + 2mph) to pass all the MLMs and after a mile or so someone in a hurry comes steaming up behind me and soon starts flashing lights while sitting on my bumper. There isn't a big enough gap for me to pull into for another mile or so, but when there is I move over and he goes tearing off.

There is a layby near the Wisley turning just before the M25 junction and as I go past he is in the layby having a chat with the BIB so I gave him a sort of wave!

Another petrol pump one, sort of karma!

Pulled into Sainsburys petrol station near me, that I know well, and stopped at the first pump. Older guy in the car behind me gives a blast on his horn and starts gesticulating at me to pull forward to the pump in front. I carry on filling up at this pump and he loses it, winding his window down and 'berating' me, while his wife sat cringing in the passenger seat! I finish filling up and wander over to him and he aggressively asks "Why didn't you 'kin move?" Very calmly I say "Because this pump has diesel, and the front one doesn't!" The karma bit comes in as his embarrassed wife absolutely ripped him a new one as I walked away, with him sliding down in his seat as the window wound back up! Made me smile, a lot!

Years ago my mate was on the A303 and had someone right up his chuff. My mate knew the road pretty well and slowed right down as he came to a particular bend he knew of, the other guy went roaring past him straight into the welcoming arms of the speed camera which was cleverly hidden round the bend.

I'm a big fan of observing the merge in turn philosophy. Obviously, as we all know, there are those who disagree with this approach. I've tried to do what I always do and ease up on the outside lane looking for a sensible soul to do the right thing and allow me to slot in.

As I've done this, maybe about a quarter of a mile out from the merge, I encounter the " you aren't getting past me " muppet, who moves out to block me. Unfortunately, the manner in which he did so meant I could dive in alongside him on the inside and then hang him out to dry, which I did, right up to the merge. Cheered me up immensely to see a number of those behind who had observed his behaviour also bunch up to prevent him from merging.

I don't generally condone such behaviour, but the message there is don't start something you can't finish, especially if you're in the wrong to begin with.

My older brother likes to be the centre of attention, to be fair he is an excellent raconteur, with many an enthralling tale to tell.

There we are, in his local, holding court as usual, he’s recounting to his mates, the tale of younger brother (me), who was fortunate enough to have a nice company car, (Orion 1.6i) and how I’d ragged it to death, showing no respect for the steed with which I had been entrusted; oh the howls of laughter!

Until I pointed out, that during my tenure, I’d kept it on the black stuff and the right way up, unlike him, who was told by his employer “The next one you write off, you pay for”.

A few stories to share.

First was when I was in an M3, went to fill up and some old tt decided that he was more important than me and cut in front of me to fill up his car. I was 19, your usual mouthy teenager, and after a bit of back-and-forth, the car behind me honked. Heard a loud voice saying "we're reversing, fill up here." It was an unmarked police car (an X3) that didn't appreciate the "you fking " comments from the innit bruv guy who'd jumped the queue.

I also remember driving somewhere and having another angry driver behind me. I was quite happy doing 60 in the NSL sections, but slowed down to 30 for the 30 sections. I knew my turning off was coming, so I let a tractor out in front of me before a long stretch of double white lines, and took the next turning off.

Another time was when I was on the motorway, heavy traffic. Driving along I heard the bumpbumpbump sound of a clearly flat tyre. I saw there was a police refuge (or whatever those raised bits of road are called), so I drove donw the hard shoulder to go and park there so I could change a wheel. A few cars, assuming I was jumping the queue, followed suit. The raised bit of road had a police car parked, monitoring the traffic. They let me park there to change my wheel whilst pulling over all of the other drivers who'd assumed I was leading a queue jump.

A couple of years ago we were booked on an early eurotunnel crossing for one of our cycling trips to the alps. The eurotunnel turn off from the M20 was queuing back onto the motorway, and I encountered the back of the queue to find a lorry reversing up lane 2 so that he could join the back of the queue which was slightly alarming, but he was not the recipient of karma in this story.

I found the first gap in the queue, and we sat there stationary/crawling forward for 35minutes, and with a steady stream of cars coming past in lane 2 obviously looking to join the queue in front of us. I was cursing that I hadn’t bought flexiplus as our final check on time approached and passed.

A police traffic car came past and shortly after the queue started making better progress . As we approach the point that the slip lane turns away from the carriageway and the lanes divide a black X5 towing a ski boat comes bowling along trying to dive in aggressively, and sits there in lane 2 trying to force a gap. I held my road position, and in a crescendo of torque converter revs he moved up and tried the gap infront of the car ahead.

Turns out the traffic car had sat itself on the hard shoulder after the junction and the officer was telling all those trying to dive in at the last moment to continue on the M20. Mr X5 protested he’d miss his train was given short shrift from the officer saying he should have queued like everyone else. It’s probably a 10mile loop to the next junction, back to the previous, one and back.

In the best of PH tradition there'll be someone along to tell you something how "using all the available road space makes more sense than merging early" (or some similar nonsense...)

Not a huge bout of karma but I witnessed the usual BMW bellend type on the M60 the other weeks, an old 5-Series, matt grey wrap, smoked tail lights, limo tints, you get the idea. He was playing silly buggers and generally being the chavvy tt that most modified init-bruv spec German badged euroboxes tend to be, weaving in and out of lanes, undertaking and tailgating.

I'd been following a black V90 from the M62, which I was curious as it was being well driven but at a reasonable pace. I thought there was a good chance it was unmarked plod, which when init bruv in his chav wagon decided to demonstrate his superior driving prowess by undertaking some traffic, said V90 leapt forwards onto the tail of the BMW, pulling it over. Confirmed the suspicions of it being plod!

Except it isn’t just ‘some bloke on PH’ it’s in the highway code & advocated by all research into traffic management.

By all means pull in early if you like, just don’t get cross if others don’t. I’ll take my chances at not being able to get off the M20 or whatever in that unlikely event. beer

Years ago I was turning right on a roundabout which naturally placed me in the 'merge in turn' lane exiting said roundabout. This woman in her old Picasso full of Chantelles and Tyrones saw me as pushing in and would not let me in come hell or high water. I drove beside her trying to explain I hadn't done anything wrong while she furiously spat the reminents of her chips at me called me a wker. We were in slow moving traffic and while she was raging, the traffic ahead crept forward so I nipped neatly into the gap. She was that furious she stalled her car and about 4 other cars went around her. I was crying with laughter!
