Bought a new car.... Drunk from eBay.... mars bar
Discussion
eBay I have to say is a terrible thing and auctions are addictive and booze makes some decisions which you'd not normally make seem like the best decision at the time.
Anyway have bought a car from the bay after a belly full of beer.
Turns out that when drunk a car with no service history practically days of MOT and in the light of day those niiggly jobs are actually a bit more than what they seemed when drunk.
Car in question is a 944 S2 coupe an early one.
Certainly not the model I would choose - if I were to buy one sober it would be the 944 Turbo S.
Don't think there is any way I can back out of the deal so another steed added to the garage at least the Porsche has been added to the ownership list.
Also buying without driving it or seeing it .... Utterl madness just hope its ok else its a few bags of sand wasted (though I guess its worth more than that in parts alone so maybe a risk free purchase).
Views silly error or bloody good model to choose?

If it's not as described the cash stays in your pocket.
In the light of day the description seems pretty honest lots of facts. Is the 944 S2 really that bad a car? I mean its no 944 Turbo sadly but are these money puts? Sills brake lines rear transaxle crumbling seats shot engine pricy clutch ad brake servo
Actually, I'm calling bullst on this post. The only Porsche 944 S2 sold on eBay recently is this one, which isn't a coupe and it has 10 months MOT & Tax and looks reasonably ok.

What colour is it? A mate had a red one, lovely thing.
Nothing wrong with an S2 IMO, great handling car. They can cost to maintain though, like most Porsche.
How many miles has it done, and what sort of jobs need doing?

Will pop it in for an MOT ASAP and if its fubar ill put it back I for sale with days of MOT remaining.
Cannot see it possible in losing too much if its only a few bags of sand to buy in the first place and at the time top of the range?

S2s are a saved search for me - I can't see the one Welshy has bought either!http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261240018630
There is an '88 S that might be mistaken for an early S2 that has an MoT epxiring tomorrow (Friday) and which went for £645.
WelshBeef suggests that he paid £2,645 for it so maybe that's a notional £2k to make it right?
I can't find anything that meets the description that has actually sold though.

It's not leaping out at me either. Perhaps it was wrongly listed as a 924 or something? Perhaps with the Secret Squirrel thing he got the vendor to pull the listing once he'd won it?
