Appreciating car for £30,000 that's fast around a circuit
Discussion
Hi guys,
I know similar threads have been made in the past but I can't find anything that reflects current market values.
I'm looking towards buying something circa £30,000 to hold onto that won't drop in value but will also be fairly rapid around the track a few times per year.
It won't be used as a daily driver and only driven when the weather is kind.
What are people's thoughts on something that fits those criteria?
So far I'm thinking
- BMW CSL
- Porsche 911 of some description
- Noble M12
- Lotus Esprit (how quick are these?)
I'd love a GT3 but I've clearly missed the boat.
Cheers, Ollie.

Wont lose a penny, but probably wont gain anything either.
for 30k you will probably get a stupidly powerful one if your into that.
ETA: This looks like a gem

It might be more fun to spend a much smaller amount on something to drive around a track, then invest the rest of the money in something else.
I find fun is inversely proportional to financial risk. I am boring though, and have had a few incidents on track that would have been costly in something worth real money.
Anyway: Alfa SZ? E30 M3? (I'm sure I've seen some for silly money) Elan? 340R?

Noble values are only going one way . The titanium 11k miler at Kerridges is as good an example as you're likely to find albeit a bit over budget .
best real world sports car I have ever driven...I'm worried they'd be left behind in terms of future values compared to say a CSL?
shouldn't fall in value , not that many made, never many for sale, mileage and condition dictate price.....
fantastic handing car with performance to match.
we took an m400 down to le mans back in 2005........
awesome road trip , only downside was space for luggage ....not a problem on trackdays !
