May sound a silly question

Hi Guys
Not sure if this is a stupid question or not but it’s been playing on my mind all day.
Earlier today I was driving my new golf GTD out of my drive and went in a bit heavy on the throttle and wheel span in the dry for a few seconds, I never normally do this and usually treat the car to the love and care it deserves but my mind has been playing silly buggers on me all day thinking I may have damaged one of the components. Do you think a one off like this could cause any serious damage?

Spinning the wheels for a few seconds you say. Will it hurt it you say?
Spinning the wheels, quite litterally, under laboratory conditions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OdEhoAJZOs
Your diesel car will thank you for giving it some welly from time to time.

I do this too, it plays on my mind all day. I have way too much mechanical sympathy. After a while you'll come to realise that cars are designed and tested to do this. I've got a fiesta st and its meant to be driven with a bit of va va voom or whatever.
Likewise with your gtd. It has a diesel engine designed to haul fully laden much heaver cars in the VAG range while towing a caravan at the same time.
A bit of wheelspin wont hurt it. The tyres however.....
