Ariel Nomad: Pic of the Week
With 238hp and RWD, the Nomad slides effortlessly into our hearts and onto our monitors
Our Pic of the Week this week is of course the fantastic Ariel Nomad. Powered by the same 2.4-litre Honda engine found in many of the company's Atom roadcars, it puts out 238hp and 221lb ft of torque. In a machine weighing just 670kg, the result is a 0-60 sprint of just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 125mph.
Unlike many other off-roaders, however, the Nomad's power is sent to the rear wheels only via a six-speed manual gearbox. This opens up access to levels of all-terrain entertainment beyond the reach of almost anything else on the market, and also elevates the Nomad into a higher automotive echelon than merely that of the big boy's toy.
With that in mind, our POTW not only celebrates the Nomad in all of its gratifying excess, but also previews this Sunday's feature which pitched it head to head with two other class-leading British cars: the McLaren 570S and Bentley Continental GT. Quite how those three relate to one another, I'll leave it up to Nic to explain, but until then you can behold the Nomad in all its desktop-deserving glory via the links below.
I'll have a guess, "Somerset has produced a splendiforous off roader that carves a sinewy line of deliciousness through the landscape in a way that any other vehicle would deem oxymoronic. Crewkerne have developed....*splode*"

I presume the Nomad kills the Mc for fun.
