Consider the BMW M3 E30 and imagine the outcry on here is BMW released it today.
A crappy little 4pot with just over 200Bhp, a terrible 5 speed box, a slow 0-60, no crash protection and zero toys.
It would be slated

Isn't that totally missing the point?
The e30 M3 IS a great car and always will be. It's pure folly to try and directly compare performance to a modern car though, and it's equal folly to compare the driving enjoyment of a new Vauxhall Corsa to that of a 1960's sports car.
