Ferrari Enzo's Return Predicted For 2012

Prancing Horse product plans revealed - allegedly

Enzo - word is the next one's imminent
Enzo - word is the next one's imminent
We're already expecting Ferrari to launch its 458 Spider at the Frankfurt motor show in September (complete with retractable rigid roof), but now we can reveal the company's full product plans for the next couple of years - allegedly - thanks to a new report from Italy. (Via Automotive News.)

Following the 458 Spider's debut this autumn, look out for a hotter Scuderia version of the 458 in 2013, while the model is due a range-wide facelift in 2014. Prior to that the California gets a facelift/freshen-up in 2013, while the 599 GTB Fiorano replacement should be one of the big news stories at next March's Geneva motor show.

More intriguingly, the report also maintains the Enzo replacement project is set to go on sale in 2012. There have been stories about this car circulating for years, but little concrete evidence and no actual 'sightings' that we're aware of. Autocar briefly wrote about it earlier this year, suggesting the car would get a twin-turbo V8 and lots of active aerodynamics - however this latest report says the engine will be a normally aspirated V12.

Either way the car will make its first appearance in 2012, we're told, which just happens to be ten years on from when production of the Enzo started. (Blimey, doesn't time fly, etc. Ed.)

Who the hell seriously thought it would get a twin-turbo V8?
I agree, I can't ever imagine Ferrari using such an engine.
Never on their flagship car wink

First person to mention electricity gets a stty stick in the eye...
I hope that it will use Electricity to run on ..... I'd hate it to have a compression ignition engine using the fuel that all production compression ignition engines do currently wink

Hope its better looking than the last one.
I must be one of the few that thinks that the Enzo is an absolutely stunning design, that is unique and purposeful, and devoid of the "Pagani" tinsel that litters too many hypercar designs.

Time will tell, however I think that the Enzo will be a future classic, albeit one that is firmly stuck in a particular point in history.
