Hi guys,

Currently got a (1996) Impreza STi RA & fancy a change.

Only requirements are:

Fun to drive (plenty of twisty roads round here)
Generally reliable
Capable of taking a bit of abuse
4x4 would be good but not essential

Budget is around £4k

Got other cars for other purposes so this is strictly for taking out on a hoon to put a smile on my face.

Thinking about Audi S3, Clio 1*2, Robin hood/Locost 7 etc, Mini Cooper S, Megane 225 & even the 2000 onwards MR2.

Help me decide please guys thumbup

Thanks for the suggestions! Time to put the Scoob up for sale I think.

So.Much.Want for the fisher - would never have thought of that. Am really really leaning towards something bike engined now. What are they like reliability wise? Anything specific to look for?

shout Update (for those interested)

With the impreza now sold & I spent the last few days testing cars on my shortlist. These were; Clio 182 (FF), Audi S3, Ninja powered robin hood and finally a MK3 MR2.

After weighing up all the pros & cons I've gone with my heart & am picking up an MR2 in a few days time. I liked it's fun factor & simplicity. It's an '04 facelift version in sable grey with 6 speed box & air con, but no hard top (not too fussed about that as it'll have the top down most of the time).

It was a grand under budget so I'm planning to fit a set of tein coilovers and will probably stick a TTE exhaust on for good measure.

It will be a big BHP drop from the STi but TBH the MR2 feels just as fun. If I do get bored of the 140bhp I can always fit a VVTLi engine hehe ...and then 'charge it rofl

I'll update with photos once I've collected the car.

Took a "bit" of a detour this evening so snapped a few pics of the MR2. Also one of the scoob for old times sake. Apologies for the rubbish quality - taken on camera phone.

The MR2 is a totally different kettle of fish (obviously) but so far I'm really enjoying it smile

Any fellow MR2 owners on here wavey
