Motor legal expenses

Ok search proving next to useless and google not really giving me an answer:
I currently have two motor insurance policies and one home insurance policy all with LV and i'm just about to renew one of the motor policies with them for another year. When ticking the box for "legal expenses" it got me wondering whether it is absolutely necessary to include this on all three policies, especially at 3x£25 for the year.
Do I need them all or will one cover me for everything? Can I decline all three and take some kind of cover elsewhere for less than £75 a year?
